Steven Schloeder will be presenting the paper “The Architecture of the Mystical Body” at the upcoming “A Living Presence” symposium on Catholic architecture at Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC, on Friday April 30, 2010.
Steven Schloeder gave the keynote address at the 2nd International Conference on Contemporary Religious Architecture in Ourense, Spain. His talk was entitled, “The architecture of the mystical body: how to build churches after the Second Vatican Council.”
On 12 November 2004, Dr. Schloeder will be giving a public lecture at the International Institute for Culture, in Philadelphia. The talk, “Byzantine to Baroque (and Beyond): Italian Church Architecture from 325 AD to the Present”, will explore the developed language of Catholic church architecture, with a special focus on the recent Church of the Millennium designed for the Grand Jubilee of 2000 by noted American architect Richard Meier.
